Jackie Rasmussen - Office: (910) 577-1000
I was born and raised in Kent, England and moved to California as a young, Marine wife. Like most military couples, we moved around from state to state and then to Jacksonville in 1989. This has been my home ever since.
I have two sons, who are my greatest joy; one who lives here locally and one in Raleigh.
I have worked in the Real Estate field for most of my adult life, and have been with Choice Jacksonville Realty since 1999. I love my work family and I really enjoy being the support for management and the agents. Most of our agents are affiliated with the military by marriage or prior service so you can be rest assured that they will understand what you are going through, whether you are looking for your first home to rent/buy or if you are moving on to your next duty station and need to put your home on the market. However we can help, I think you’ve made the right Choice!
John Sutherland - Mobile: (910) 545-1708
Jonathan Strader - Mobile: (910) 340-4480
Having arrived in Onslow County, NC in 1986, I have an intimate knowledge of the Area’s professional and recreational amenities. My favorite thing about good old Jacksonville, NC is the way everyone still waves and open doors for one another.
Being a second generation REALTOR®, I consider it my privilege and duty to pass on the same expertise and diligence as those amazing Professionals that came before me. With more than a Decade of Licensed Real Estate Practice, I’m able to swiftly & efficiently guide both my Buyer & Seller Clients to the finish line. It’s also my sincerest pleasure to create a true win-win whenever possible. This is, after all, what Choice Jacksonville Realty is all about!
When I’m not working, I prefer to engage with my local Friends and Family as often as possible. Going fishing, playing a good card game or just relaxing with loved ones are the most cherished of my moments.
Beyond the experience, diligence & expertise there is one thing that truly matters above all- just how much you care about those you have the honor to serve. There’s a quote that I had acquired from someone very near and dear to me “Nobody Cares How Much You Know Until They Know How Much You Care”. This quote defines my true north in both Real Estate Practice and Life itself.

Shirrie Brandenburg - Mobile: (910) 539-6858
Being born and raised in Phoenix Arizona, and living in several other states, including
4 years in Hawaii, I’m in love with eastern North Carolina. My husband and I settled here after the Marine Corps and have made it our home for the last 24 years. We have three wonderful children, 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, and as you can imagine, family is very important to me. Helping them find out who they are and where they are heading in life, watching them grow into adults with all the joys and sorrows and have them mature into parents has been a true blessing from God.
My favorite times are when our family gets together, it can be chaos, but it is always
memorable and a lot of fun. The party is almost always at our house with outdoor games, swimming and fishing, we have a small pond, the fun never seems to end. Being near the coast allows me to enjoy the beach and the awesome fishing along our beautiful coast, which are some of my passions. With an extensive background in retail sales, management and customer service, I’m committed to helping people. From managing fast food to major arts and craft stores and over 15 years in the cellular phone market as a sales representative and store manager, I’m well
equipped to help people find what they are looking for and taking care of their needs. In my journey to real estate, I have also been an event coordinator, worked my own jewelry business creating and selling at local events. I have over 30 years in sales, and service and the client are my primary focus. The personal touch and finding just the right fit regardless if it’s a piece of jewelry or a cell phone is where dedication, time and integrity makes the difference Family and home are extremely important to me, helping others make their dreams a reality is my passion.

Melissa Olsen - Mobile: (910) 333-3835
Melissa was born and raised in Kentucky, until she decided to take the plunge and join the United States Navy, which took her to Oklahoma City. While stationed there she met her husband (also a sailor) and started her family. Melissa has a unique perspective when it comes to the military because, not only is she a veteran, she is also a 20 year military spouse. She understands the unique needs, and concerns from both sides of a military family. Melissa wanted to become a REALTOR as soon as her contract with the Navy was completed, but with all the moving around required, she thought it would be best to wait until her husband retired. During her time waiting for him to retire, she tried her hand at a multitude of different occupations, from office management to massage therapy and many in between. She was always looking to help people, and do something she felt meaningful, when she started her real estate pre-licensing course, she knew she was finally doing what she had always been meant to be. Upon joining Choice Team, she finally felt at home for the first time since she left Kentucky.
